I can see for miles and miles.

I hate not being able to see for miles in any direction. Iowa left me closed in. And it's dark there. It was pitch black by 5:30.

I didn't realize that Iowa makes one feel closed in because of all the trees and hills. Can you feel claustrophobic outside? The whole state makes me feel that way. It was so good to finally drive back through to the flint hills where the praire streches off for miles as far as one can see.

I could breathe again. I obviously wouldn't have been one of those pioneers who went west and freaked out when they got to Kansas because they could see forever.
