More pictues, more camping, more about de dog

Here are some of my favorite camping pictures, sans logan in his "pants". We did have fun overall and will most likely go camping again.

The dog is part pug, part beagle. The vet at the humane society thought she was about three years old. We've found out that she likes kids, loves to sniff at everything, doesn't have a problem with the cat, is house broken and crate trained. She doesn't bark very much at all. She also seems to really like Arina. We'll see, as time goes, how easily she learns. She was instantly Marc's favorite when we were looking at all the dogs and won us all over instantly. So here's to the new baby in the house!

The new dog

Here is the new dog. The children have named her Little Ann after the dog in Where the Red Fern grows. We picked her up from the humane society yesterday and already, she is loved.

Um, yeah. I'm old

I'm too old to sleep on the hard ground in just a sleeping bag. And why, oh why, with all the padding that I've added since I was 18, do my bony hips still dig into the ground? There is no comfortable position on the ground. None. And I hate peeing outside. At least I didn't pee in my shoes like Arina did. Nor did I wet my sleeping bag and have to wear my sister's underwear because I failed to pack any.

"Why are my underwear soaked? And why is the outside of my bag all wet?"
"Because you wet your sleeping bag."
"No, I didn't."
"Does it smell like pee?"
"Yes."
"You have two choices, go underwearless or wear your wet ones."
"He can wear mine, I packed an extra pair of panties."
"Three choices."
"I'll wear Arina's."

I have pictures he'll hate me for someday. Funny thing is he forgot he had them on.

Oh, and taking the child who is afraid of the dark camping. Yeah.

From the tent: "Um, I'm a little freaked out here." Didn't help that we had kept teasing them about coyotes getting them and the coyotes had started their yipping and howling.

But the kids loved it and had a blast. Me, I'll pack an air mattress.

Hmmm

This is the short version in list form of life since I've blogged:

Things that are funny:
Logan shocking people with his trick laser pointer.
Logan singing Guns and Roses in the backseat.
I'm old enough to be 35.

Things that make me misty:
Kids getting bigger.
Kids not being little.
Turning 35.
The ending of BIOSHOCK.
Wait, everything makes me misty.

Things that suck:
Work.
Not finding a new job yet.
People breaking.
Turning 35. What the hell am I going to do with the other half of my life?

Things that bring much undeserved joy to my life:
My family.
My sisters.
My children.
My friends.
My parents
And those really hot leopard mary janes I bought off eBay.
