We cruise through the Flinthills to go to Iowa. It's the most scenic part of the entire drive up 35 and then across 80. I was reading when we were driving through and Marc commented that I missed a great shot. I got out my camera and shot out the window, then turned to see his hat on the dashboard. I loved how it reflected on the mirror and the colors. I think this is one I'll probably enlarge and frame.

We went to Iowa City today. This is the view I will remember from today, not the fantastic downtown or beautiful campus or the really cool wall murals. Not the houses or the surrounding landscape, but this:






Please note that I am inside the car after being fed up with their behavior and amusing myself by taking pictures of them. I did let them back in after they apologized.

Or for those that have heard it here before CPH. I'm tormenting the children by making them wait until 2:30 to swim again. So far we've gone to the second hand store. Cute shoes, cute clothes, really cute alarm clock. I might beg marc to use that one instead of the one here in the hotel. It sounds like an air raid alarm. We've gone to the Porters camera. Bleah. Nothing I wanted today. We've made lunch and run around a bit. Tomorrow we may go to Iowa City and Coralville. Or the outlet mall. I haven't decided yet. However, Sarah would be proud because I'm not running around with stupid looking hair. Off to swim and keep from killing the children. Swimming for them, not for me. My hair's too cute.

So. This is almost what I envisioned. Almost. Miss Ree really got into it, D did just fine and B, well he was pissy. Which was what I needed. But I needed cooperative pissy, not I refuse to work Naomi Campbell diva pissy.

There are others that I will post later, but this is my favorite.
